WASHINGTON – The 2012 Washington Auto Show will be rolling on out of the Washington Convention Center shortly, but you still have a chance to play the “Price is Right” at the car show and perhaps take home a really big souvenir.

“If you’re the lucky winner, you’re walking away with a free Hyundai Sonata and a trip out to California,” says John O’Donnell, the show’s associate producer.

In order to win, you have to guess the total cost of a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. The winner also gets a fully-paid trip to California to see a taping of the “Price is Right.”

The winner, out of the tens of thousands who have entered, will be announced Sunday at 1 p.m. O’Donnell says,

He says they’ve been doing the “Price is Right” and giving away cars for more than ten years.

This year the show, with more than 700 new cars including 11 concept cars, runs for ten days instead of five days. It wraps up at 6pm Sunday.

So what’s different this year?

The so-called “Ride and Drives”

“People can sign up and take a drive in the car right here at the auto show,” says O’Donnell. He says you can hop in a Cadillac, Toyota, Kia or Volkswagen.

If you sign up to test drive a Volkswagen you can have a celebrity ride with you.

“We’re going to have nine D.C. United players that will get in the car and will ride along with you,” he says.

O’Donnell says this is the greenest auto show in the world.

“We have something called the ‘Advanced Technology Superhighway,” says O’Donnell. “It’s 65-thousand square feet of the latest innovations in safety and alternative energy (bio-fuels, clean diesel and electric) vehicles.”
