Safeway is continuing to expand, renovate or rebuild its stores in Montgomery County, with the latest to open Feb. 23 in Olney.
The store, located at 333 Spartan Road, is on the same site where the previous Safeway was located. This is the second opening in Montgomery County in four months for Safeway Inc. (NYSE: SWY).
Olney will also be the only Maryland Safeway in the D.C. region to sell wine and beer. The store will feature over 175 different beers and 1,200 different wines.
