Update: Montgomery County police say Shanee Cox has been found safe, and has been reunited with her family
WHEATON, Md. – A missing 6-month-old Wheaton girl is safe and back with family members. But, police say the baby’s 14-year-old mother remains missing.
Montgomery County Police say Shanee Cox, 14, and her daughter, Nevaeh Cox, disappeared Feb. 2. Family members worried about the baby’s welfare, and said Shanee Cox might need medical attention.
The two had last been seen Thursday in the 2200 block of Georgian Way in Wheaton, and police believed they might be in the Wheaton/Glenmont area.
A news release from police does not say where or how Nevaeh Cox was found, only that she has been “reunited with family members” and that police are still looking for Shanee Cox.
Shanee Cox is described as black, 5-foot-2 and 130 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair that is kept in a pony tail.
Police say she was last seen wearing a blue coat, a pink shirt, ripped blue jeans over black leggings and brown boots.
Police are asking anyone with information to call 301-279-8000 or 240-773-5400.
