Did you know that iPad usage spikes at 8 p.m. and iPhone consumption peaks at 8 a.m., noon and 6 p.m.?

WASHINGTON — Having the right tool for the job apparently depends on the time of day for iPhone and iPad owners using news aggregation sites.
IPads users with magazine-like Flipboard, Zite, or other similar apps are more likely to sit down, relax and digest articles in the evening, while iPhone users tend to tick off an article or two during the day.
App developers say they want to tailor the user experiences for the iPhone and iPad to reflect how and when customers are likely to use the device.
Flipboard says its Cover Stories feature on the iPhone allows a quick one-glance check of updated stories, when a user has a few minutes, as in when standing in a line.
The Read It Later service says far more articles are read on iPad between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., during a period the company calls “personal primetime.”
