Randi Martin, a View from Venus
WASHINGTON – Some of us are making those Valentine’s Day dinner reservations and ordering the flowers — while others are giving their relationship a long hard look.
Valentine’s Day puts pressure on relationships especially the ones that are going through rough times.
Thinking about that big break up? Consider a few things first.
You cannot change your mate — don’t even try. Even if they do make you crazy.
Relationship experts suggest putting your thoughts down on paper and start a conversation.
This doesn’t mean ten pages of negative slams, just point out where the stress is — whether it’s finances, the juggling of kid activities, your job, his job, your in-laws, the lack of romance, whatever.
The bottom line is relationships change and reality sets in. Prince Charming has left the building, but most issues can be addressed, if both of you are willing to work at it.
Remember once you make that break – there may be no going back.
