No. 3 Sooners look to stay perfect against Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — No. 3 Oklahoma (7-0, 4-0 Big 12) at Kansas (1-5, 0-3), Saturday at noon EDT (ESPN).

Line: Oklahoma by 38 1/2, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Series record: Oklahoma leads 78-27-6

WHAT’S AT STAKE?

Oklahoma is looking to get to 8-0 to start the season. They are on a collision course for one of the best Bedlam games against Oklahoma State in history when they meet on November 27th. Kansas is trying to win a conference game for the first time in nearly two years and attempting to beat Oklahoma for the first time since 1997.

KEY MATCHUP

Kansas QB Jason Bean has not been very good throwing the ball in the first three Big 12 games this season. He has thrown for just over 75 yards on average per conference game this season and just one touchdown. The Oklahoma secondary is down three guys and will find how much depth they have this week. It’s a good week to see wo they can depend on going forward.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Oklahoma: RB Kennedy Brooks has been a spark on the ground for Oklahoma the past two games. He’s ran for 370 yards and three touchdowns in the past two games. He should have a chance to have his biggest game of the season against a defense that allows on average 250 yards per game on the ground.

Kansas State: QB Miles Kendrick could be put in the game if Bean struggles against the Sooners. He threw for two touchdowns in the final minute during the 41-14 loss to Texas Tech last week. The Jayhawks need to throw the ball well if they want any chance against Oklahoma.
