With both coaches out, No. 7 Baylor beat TCU 74-50

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Moon Ursin and NaLyssa Smith helped No. 7 Baylor beat TCU 74-50 on Saturday, when both head coaches missed the game because of coronavirus contact tracing.

With associate head coach Bill Brock filling in for Kim Mulkey, Baylor (8-1, 3-0 Big 12) won its 30th straight game in the series. It was the first game for the Lady Bears since consecutive 93-point nonconference victories the week before Christmas.

Ursin had season highs with 21 points and 10 rebounds, along with seven assists. Smith had 18 points and 12 rebounds. DiDi Richards added 14 points, six rebounds and seven assists for Baylor.

TCU (5-3, 0-3) said coach Raegan Pebley missed the game due to a quarantine period after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19. The school said Pebley tested negative but was following medical protocol to isolate.

Associate head coach Hanna Howard handled head coaching duties for TCU.

Lauren Heard had 14 points on 2-of-15 shooting to lead TCU.

NO. 2 LOUISVILLE 97M BELLARMINE 46

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Olivia Cochran scored 15 points to lead Louisville past Bellarmine,

The Cardinals (7-0) shot 60.9%, going 13 of 16 in the second quarter to pull away. Norika Konno tied a career high with 11 points, and Dana Evans and Kianna Smith also had 11.

Lauren Deel had eight points for the Knights (0-5).

NO. 21 SOUTH FLORIDA 71, EAST CAROLINA 58

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Bethy Mununga had 23 points and 21 rebounds, both bests in her two years at South Florida, and the Bulls pulled away from East Carolina.

Mununga controlled the inside, especially in the second half when she outrebounded the Pirates 15-12 and scored 11 points. The senior spent her first two years at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.

Sydni Harvey added 11 points for the Bulls (7-1, 4-0 American Athletic Conference).

Sierra DaCosta and Lashonda Monk had 13 points apiece for East Carolina (5-4, 3-1).

NO. 23 GONZAGA 69, SAINT MARY’S 37

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Jenn Wirth had 11 points and 14 rebounds in Gonzaga’s victory over Saint Mary’s.

LeeAnne Wirth added 10 points to help the Bulldogs (8-2, 3-0 West Coast Conference) win their seventh straight.

Taycee Wedin scored nine points for the Gaels (2-6, 0-2).
