2 people rescued, 1 missing from sinking boat in Delaware

DELAWARE CITY, Del. — Authorities in Delaware are looking for a missing man after a boat began to sink on the Delaware River.

The News Journal reports that emergency crews rescued two people from the sinking boat on Monday afternoon.

The rescue occurred near Delaware City and the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal.

The U.S. Coast Guard, local fire departments and a Delaware State Police helicopter participated in the search.

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control said the man who is still missing is a 45-year-old from New Jersey.
