WASHINGTON — Everyone has a great story about how they got engaged, but for one woman who was a victim of domestic violence, her engagement is one seen by an entire stadium.
Back in 2012, Melissa Dohme’s ex-boyfriend had stabbed her 32 times in the face, back, arms, hands and shoulders.
Firefighter Cameron Hill turned out to be one of the first responders who assisted Dohme.
The two eventually started a romance.
When Dohme went out for a ceremonial first pitch at the Tampa Bay Rays game Monday night, Hill took her the ball and then dropped to one knee.
On the ball were the words, “Will you marry me?”
