Police hunt for Silver Spring man accused of killing wife

WASHINGTON — Police in Montgomery County are looking for the husband of a woman found dead on the kitchen floor of her Silver Spring, Maryland, home earlier this month.

The body of Alice Mino Dennis, 34, was discovered April 18 during a welfare check by officers at the couple’s home in the 3600 block of Bel Pre Road. She had suffered trauma to her upper body.

Montgomery County police said they believe Dennis’ husband, 30-year-old Ruel Francis Dempster II, killed Dennis after a domestic dispute. He is now being sought on an arrest warrant for first-degree murder, police said in a news release Thursday.

The public is asked to come forward with information regarding Dempster’s whereabouts. Detectives have received information that he was seen in Baltimore on the afternoon of April 17.

Demspter is described as an African male, 6 feet tall and 180 lbs. He has a prominent gold front tooth.

Officers had gone to the couple’s home April 18 after a family member was unable to contact the couple and called 911 asking police to check on Dempster and Dennis’ welfare.

Dempster could not be located in the apartment where his wife lay dead, and detectives noted that many of his personal items were gone.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore ruled Dennis’ death a homicide.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Montgomery County Police Department at 301-279-8000 (24/7 line) or Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Callers may remain anonymous.
