WASHINGTON — Police in Montgomery County said they have arrested three men who are accused of gang raping a 19-year-old woman in a White Oak, Maryland, apartment last month.
Detectives have identified two other suspects in the March 28 rape and are “actively looking” for them, according to Rick Goodale, a Montgomery County police spokesman.
“It’s of high importance for the department. We want to give these two remaining suspects off the streets. It was a violent act that all five suspects committed,” Goodale said in an interview with WTOP. “We have locked up three of them, and we want to get these last two guys off the streets.”
Martin Moise Chery, 21, from White Oak, Maryland, has been charged with first-degree rape, second-degree rape and first-degree assault.
Jordan W. Cobbs, 20, from Silver Spring, Maryland, and Tombong S. Saidy, from Wheaton, Maryland, have both been charged with first-degree rape, second-degree rape and conspiracy to commit rape.
Police said they responded on March 28 to MedStar Montgomery County Medical Center in Olney, Maryland, for the report of a rape that happened earlier.
The victim told police that she was playing dominoes with the five suspects in an apartment in the 11400 block of Lockwood Drive in White Oak. The victim told police everyone in the apartment had been drinking and at one point she went to a bedroom to lie down.
When she was in the bedroom, she told police that the five men entered the bedroom and all five raped and assaulted her.
Police are still working to identify and locate the two remaining suspects. Anyone with any information about the crimes or the two suspects is asked to contact the Montgomery County Special Victims Unit.
