Gaithersburg man dies after early-morning Georgia Ave. crash

WASHINGTON -— A Gaithersburg man died after an early-morning crash involving two pickup trucks on Georgia Avenue in the Aspen Hill area of Montgomery County, Maryland.

The crash closed down all lanes of Georgia Avenue in the area of Aspen Hill Road for several hours during the Wednesday morning commute.

Montgomery County police said 28-year-old Adalberto Montoya Flores, who was traveling northbound on Georgia Avenue in a 2007 Nissan Frontier, struck a 2017 Toyota Tacoma that was attempting to turn onto Georgia Avenue from Hewitt Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Both Montoya Flores and the driver of the Toyota were transported to Suburban Hospital. Montoya Flores died at the hospital. The other driver had injuries that authorities said were not life-threatening.
