4 taken into custody after car chase in Md.

WASHINGTON — Four people were taken into police custody after a car chase that spanned two counties in Maryland Thursday.

A car chase started at the Wendy’s on Powder Mill Road in Beltsville and made its way to New Hampshire Avenue, says Officer Rick Goodell with Montgomery County police.

An investigation continues.

The vehicle being chased went the wrong way along New Hampshire Avenue in an effort to flee the other vehicle. The wrong-way vehicle caused a few minor accidents, but no one was hurt, Goodell says.

Police finally caught up with the vehicle doing the chasing at 11130 New Hampshire Ave. in White Oak — an Office Depot.

Montgomery County Police say they could not confirm if shots were fired.  No weapon was found, and no bullet holes or casings were spotted either.

Police in both counties are now working to learn more about what sparked the chase.

Police also say they believe the people in the two cars know each other.
