WASHINGTON — A toddler in Montgomery County is seriously hurt after falling from the balcony of a third floor of an apartment building Tuesday.
A 2-year-old boy fell from the third floor of a building on Hewitt Avenue near Georgia Avenue in Aspen Hill at about 5:30 p.m., says Montgomery County Fire Spokesman Pete Piringer.
Piringer says the child fell about 40 feet and has life-threatening injuries.
Emergency crews are transporting the child to a nearby hospital.
Piringer says adults were in the residence at the time of the incident.
