Crews search for man’s body after Maryland river collision

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Authorities in Maryland are searching for a man who went missing after two boats collided.

The Capital Gazette reports that the incident occurred Tuesday afternoon in the South River near the Chesapeake Bay.

Fire officials said that rescue boats, divers and a state police helicopter searched the for the man. The search eventually changed from a rescue to a recovery.

Two people were aboard each boat. One vessel was a 43-foot Riva powerboat. The other was a smaller johnboat. Both occupants were thrown into the water. The other boater suffered minor injuries.
