WASHINGTON — Victims of the recent flooding in Maryland are eligible for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
The loans can be used to repair or replace damaged or destroyed items such as personal property, machinery and equipment, business inventory and assets as well as real estate.
A physical disaster declaration has been approved for Frederick County because of the multiday flooding that began May 15.
People from adjacent Maryland counties — including Carroll, Howard, Montgomery and Washington — can also apply for the loans, according to a news release from Maryland’s Emergency Management Agency.
People can apply for assistance at disaster loan outreach centers that will be opening in Frederick and Sharpsburg.
