Md. volleyball coach charged with sexually abusing girl

WASHINGTON — A Maryland volleyball coach has been charged with sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl.

Marc Stephen Moore, 46, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was arrested Tuesday morning at his home. Police in Howard and Anne Arundel counties have charged him with multiple counts of sex abuse of a minor, solicitation of a minor, fourth-degree sex offenses, and distribution and possession of child pornography.

The two police departments announced in a joint statement that a 16-year-old girl told the Howard County police that Moore had touched her inappropriately at the Maryland Junior Sports Center, in Jessup, where he was a coach. She also said Moore had her taken nude pictures of herself, then took possession of the pictures.

The girl also said Moore had committed similar acts at a residence in Anne Arundel County. They’ve charged him with similar offenses.

The police departments said that anyone who knows anything about the case or has been victimized by Moore to call the Howard County police at 410-313-STOP or the Anne Arundel police at 410-222-4733. You can also email HCPDcrimetips@howardcountymd.gov.
