BALTIMORE (AP) — Marylanders can now enroll in Maryland Health Connection health coverage right from their cellphones or tablets.
The Maryland Health Benefit Exchange announced a new mobile app on Monday, ahead of open enrollment.
Using the free “Enroll MHC” app, officials say consumers can apply, compare prices and ratings of various plans. They can also log in to view their notices and upload documents for verification using the camera on their devices. The app will indicate preliminary eligibility for federal tax credits and cost-sharing for private plans offered on the state’s health insurance marketplace. It will also show users’ eligibility for Medicaid and the Maryland Children’s Health Program.
The app currently includes 2016 plans and 2017 plans will be loaded next month. Open enrollment begins Nov. 1.
