Md. police officer shot in face; in stable condition

UPDATE 11:45 a.m. 12/4/2015: The Aberdeen police say that Tyler Testerman is in custody.

EARLIER:

WASHINGTON — An Aberdeen, Maryland, police officer is in stable condition after he was shot in the face early Friday morning.

The officer is a 10-year veteran of the force who responded to a call for suspicious activity, the police say. He was flown to Shock Trauma and is reported to be in stable condition.

The opening of Aberdeen schools has been delayed until 10 a.m. as the police search for a suspect. Police say they’re looking for Tyler Scott Trestman, 21. If you see him, or know anything about where he is, call the police at 410-272-2121.
