WASHINGTON – Loudoun County is joining Fairfax, Stafford and Prince William counties in closing schools for the Virginia primary on March 1.
Loudoun County Public Schools made the announcement Tuesday, saying it was “to accommodate an anticipated higher-than-usual turnout for the Presidential Primary Election.”
According to a news release from the school system, the School Board made the decision “after receiving new recommendations from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and the Loudoun County Office of Elections.”
Administrative offices will remain open on March 1, and it will be a teacher work day.
