The Powerball jackpot is up to $500 million in advance of Wednesday’s drawing. How much is that? A lot. A whole lot.

It goes from 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds, tops out at 254 mph and they only made two. Too bad – you could afford 93 of them.

You can’t quite buy the Washington Capitals — they’re valued at $565 million , Forbes says. But surely you can find a partner for the last bit? You could go halves with another Powerball winner for the Wizards, valued at $900 million. Or you could settle for the Dallas Stars.
As for NFL and MLB teams, especially the Redskins and Nationals, don’t even: Even at $450 mil, you’re still a piker.

WASHINGTON — The Powerball jackpot is up to $500 million in advance of Wednesday’s drawing. How much is that? A lot. A whole lot.
You could buy the world’s most expensive car; the world’s most expensive jewel; the most expensive house in each of the District, Maryland and Virginia, AND the six most expensive private islands in the U.S. And you’d have barely burned through a quarter of it.
You’d still have to pinch pennies if you were looking for a sports team to buy, though.
