WASHINGTON — Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley may be trying to sing his way into the White House.
In his pursuit of the Democratic bid for president, O’Malley is offering donors a “personalized thank-you song” for $25 a pop, according to a campaign email sent Friday.
It is true that showing his musical side is nothing new for the politician. O’Malley fronts a rock band called O’Malley’s March and serenaded supporters during a campaign stop in Iowa this summer.
Last week, O’Mally even got a Twitter shout out from the Dropkick Murphys for his use of Celtic punk band’s song, “Shipping Up to Boston,” during a campaign event, Billboard reports.
Heard Presidential candidate @martinomalley used our music today. It’s nice to have a guy who stands up for working people using it !!!

O’Malley served as Maryland’s governor from 2007 to 2015. It seems he could use the exposure for the presidential race.
According to a recent CNN poll, O’Malley trails far behind the top two contenders for the Democratic nomination — Hillary Clinton and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Records from the Federal Election Commission show he’s also lagging in donors, having raised $2 million compared with Clinton’s $47.5 million. Sanders has raised $15 million, FEC records show.
