WASHINGTON — A former youth hockey coach has pleaded guilty to 10 felony counts related to possession and distribution of child pornography.
Timothy Bodenheimer, 28, of Fairfax Station, entered the guilty pleas in Fairfax County Circuit Court Monday. He is set to be sentenced Dec. 11, according to the Virginia Attorney General’s office, which prosecuted the case.
Bodenheimer faces up to 20 years for the most serious charge — distribution of child pornography. He also pleaded guilty to use of a communication system to solicit a minor and eight counts of possession of child pornography.
Bodenheimer was a volunteer assistant coach with the Washington Little Capitals youth hockey league, according to the attorney general’s office.
The Northern Virginia-Washington, D.C. Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began investigating Bodenheimer after parents of youth hockey players contacted police reporting their children had been solicited by someone posing as a girl.
Bodenheimer solicited an undercover investigator and sent the investigator child pornography and asked for nude pictures. Search warrants uncovered thousands of such images at Bodenheimer’s Fairfax Station home and another home in Loudoun County.
