Barry Manilow weds manager in secret ceremony

WASHINGTON — Looks like Barry Manilow was ready to take a chance on love again — he just wasn’t ready to make his marriage public.

Manilow reportedly married his longtime manager Garry Kief in April 2014, in a private Palm Springs ceremony, but kept the relationship and union secret until now.

The “Copacabana” singer exchanged vows with Kief at his home, in a surprise commitment ceremony that was attended by 20 to 30 guests, according to People and Us Weekly.

The news was first reported in the National Enquirer.

According to People, the couple invited guests to their home for lunch, and surprised them with the commitment ceremony, which was officiated by Marc Hulett,  who has been Manilow’s assistant since the 1980s. Hulett reportedly registered online to become a minister.

Longtime friend and Palm Springs neighbor Suzanne Somers was reportedly the best man.

A Manilow source tells People no official paperwork was signed, but the couple both wear wedding bands and “are committed to one another and have been for a very long time.”
