WASHINGTON — The extremely cold weather in D.C. has delayed the opening of Beach Drive until later in January, weather permitting.
Segment two of the road is the section of Beach Drive between Park Road/Tilden Street and Broad Branch Road/Blagden Avenue. It’s expected to open by Jan. 15 but a specific opening date will be announced on social media.
The work on Beach Drive has included fully replacing the roadway, planting trees along the road and installing a new storm drainage system.
The road has been closed since Aug. 28, 2017 as part of a three-year construction project.
