WASHINGTON — D.C. Fire & EMS were working to put out a fire at bar in Northwest D.C. on Saturday afternoon.
The fire broke out at around 1:10 p.m. at Climax Sports Bar & Lounge, at Ninth and V Streets Northwest.
Fire officials are investigating the cause of the blaze, which spread from the first floor to the second level and caused extensive damage to the building.
There were no reports of injuries. No one was inside the building when responders arrived.
Meanwhile, police shut down 900 Florida Avenue Northwest and closed 800 V Street and the 2000 block of Ninth Street Northwest in the east and westbound directions as crews worked the fire.
