UPDATE 5/6/16 4:30 a.m.: The Rotunda has reopened.
EARLIER 5/5/16 10 a.m.:
WASHINGTON — If you planning to go to the Capitol Rotunda Thursday morning, it’s closed.
A small amount of lead paint debris fell into the Rotunda while crews were working overnight, according to Laura R Condeluci, spokeswoman for the Architect of the Capitol.
An industrial hygienist is supervising the cleanup.
No tours were scheduled Thursday because of the National Day of Remembrance Ceremony.
The Rotunda will reopen after the debris is cleaned up.
