WASHINGTON — The main entrance to Sibley Memorial Hospital is blocked Wednesday morning after a water main broke on Loughboro Road.

The 8-inch water main broke right outside the hospital at about 12:30 a.m., and damaged the road in front of the hospital.

“There are no water shutoffs to residents, businesses or hydrants in the area,” and water at the hospital is also unaffected, says Emanuel Briggs, of DC Water.

Loughboro Road is blocked between Dalecarlia Parkway and McArthur Boulevard, and the main entrance to the hospital will be inaccessible for much of the morning.
