Broken rail fixed on Red Line

WASHINGTON — Metro fixed a broken rail that forced the subway system to run trains on a single track between Van Ness and Dupont Circle.

It was discovered on the in-bound tracks around 6:30 a.m. Monday.

Work to fix it took until just after 8 a.m.

To reduce the delays, Metro ran all outbound trains are bypassing the Woodley Park and Cleveland Park stations.

Delays were about 20 minutes.
