More Saks offshoots coming to DC region

WASHINGTON — Saks Fifth Avenue will open its newest D.C.-area OFF 5th outlet at the new Clarksburg Premium Outlets in Clarksburg, Maryland, this fall.

The 27,900-square-foot Clarksburg OFF 5th will open in late October, one of about 100 name-brand outlet stores planned for the Clarksburg Premium Outlets.

Saks has announced several new locations in the region this year.

The company plans to open a 22,000-square-foot location at Fair Lakes Center in August and a 33,000-square-foot OFF 5th store in downtown D.C., at 555 12th St. NW in the historic Thurman Arnold Building, in September.

That location will be the first OFF 5th store in the District, and will be next door to a 37,00-square-foot Nordstrom Rack store, opening later this fall.

“We continue to explore opportunities in this region and look forward to welcoming shoppers to the new store and becoming part of the Clarksburg community,” said Jonathan Greller, president of Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th.

Saks has other OFF 5th outlet stores in Tysons Corner, Leesburg, Chevy Chase and Potomac Mills.

Clarksburg Premium Outlets, a joint venture between Simon Premium Outlets, Streetscape Partners and New England Development, is just off Interstate 270 in Clarksburg.

Premium Outlets also has outlet locations in Leesburg, Virginia; Hagerstown, Maryland; and Queenstown, Maryland.
