A California native, Joe grew up in Northern Virginia, and has lived most of his adult life in Montgomery County. A self-professed geek of all methods of travel and transit, Joe called in tips to the WTOP Traffic Center from his car, a small plane, a train, a bus, and even a kayak. His work was published on several local web sites covering aviation, rail, bus, and pedestrian issues, plus a few restaurant reviews.
A Certified Flight Instructor, Joe got his start in traffic flying and reporting from aircraft over Washington and Baltimore in 2007, giving him the best office view in the world. He continued to work as a reporter and producer in both markets when his schedule permitted.
Joe joined the WTOP Traffic Team in the spring of 2021, and is thrilled to help drivers and transit riders around the region get to their destinations efficiently, and more importantly, safely. His favorite aspect of being on the air at WTOP is the sense of community with the WTOP News team and the many callers who all play a part in getting everyone where they are going across the District, Maryland and Virginia.
When he is not on the air, he works in the IT Industry, and is a several-time marathoner, and one-time triathlete, and is always looking for recommendations for the best new hole-in-the-wall restaurant, cocktail bar or online music stream.
