Carlos Prieto is a multi-platform journalist who specialized in audiovisual content. Born and raised in Venezuela, Carlos moved to Canada to pursue a career in storytelling.
During his studies at the University of Regina, Carlos obtained an exchange studies opportunity to complete a certificate in Political Studies at the Institute of Political Studies in Rennes, France. He also worked as story editor and videographer in the award-nominated documentary, “In her Veins,” exploring the life of an HIV-positive woman and analyzing the issue of HIV in aboriginal communities in Canada.
Upon graduation, he took part of another award-nominated documentary, “Sirocco: Winds of Resistance,” for which he traveled across Europe and Africa to film, edit, and interview characters to shed light on the Moroccan invasion of Western Sahara and the lives of Saharawi refugees.
Carlos is fully fluent in English, Spanish, and French. When he’s not in the glass-enclosed nerve center, Carlos loves to read classic books, photograph D.C. landmarks, follow news from his home country and watch soccer from all around the world.
