The 2020-21 WTOP Holiday & Celebration Cookbook
As the WTOP team reflects on 2020 and looks forward to 2021, we wanted to take a moment to thank our loyal listeners and readers for your support over the past year. It hasn’t been easy on any of us but we’ve gotten through it together. Before the pandemic, food was something that connected the members of our team to each other. We would throw newsroom potlucks or order food from our favorite local restaurants for every major event. Food is personal. It tells the story of us. And, it tells the story of our families, our cultures, our religions and our history.
Our goal with the 2020-21 WTOP Holiday & Celebration Cookbook is to honor that, and celebrate our diverse backgrounds and family traditions. While we can’t cook and share food with each other right now, we CAN share the recipes behind some of our favorite dishes. Our hope is that they bring as much joy and comfort to you as they have to each of us over the years.
Most of the recipes you will find in this collection come directly from WTOP staff members. You’ll recognize the names of those that work in the newsroom but we’ve also included recipes from our teammates in other departments — without whom we wouldn’t be able to bring you the news each day.
From our table to yours, cheers.
