WASHINGTON — Jessica McCloughan, the wife of Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan, has apologized for sending disparaging remarks on Twitter to ESPN reporter Dianna Russini.
The tweets accused Russini of performing sexual favors in exchange for information about the team.
The team has confirmed Jessica McCloughan sent the remarks. McCloughan apologized in a statement, and avoided mentioning Russini by name.
Russini used to cover the Redskins for NBC Washington locally.
ESPN also released a statement, saying, “Dianna is an excellent reporter who should never have to be subjected to such vulgar comments. We are obviously extremely disappointed by today’s developments.”
