WASHINGTON — Police are searching for a missing 80-year-old man whose cellphone was last tracked near Fredericksburg, Virginia, last week.
Virginia State Police and the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office are searching for Howard Shrieves, Jr. — an 80-year-old man who was last seen when he left his home in Accomack County on Nov. 19. When he was last seen, he was on his way to Pocomoke City, Maryland, but he never arrived at his destination.
Officials last tracked his cellphone northeast of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Nov. 20. When Shrieves was last contacted by cellphone, he seemed confused and unable to give his exact location, police say.
Shrieves was last known to be driving a black 1999 Ford Escort with Virginia plate VKB 2761.
He is about 6 foot, 1 inch tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue plaid shirt, blue pants, black boots, a blue jacket and a brown baseball cap.
He suffers from cognitive impairment, police say.
