Recognized for impeccable organization on a scenic course managed by the US Marines in Arlington, VA and the nation’s capital, the Marine Corps Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the US and the world. Known as ‘the best marathon for beginners,’ the MCM is the largest marathon in the world that doesn’t offer prize money, earning its nickname, “The People’s Marathon.”

MCM Weekend features events, celebrations and excitement from October 20-22 in Arlington, VA, Washington, D.C. and now, National Harbor, MD. Some events require advance ticket purchase. Please see specific event pages for details.

Health & Fitness Expo. The Health & Fitness Expo, featuring Packet Pick-up, will be held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center at National Harbor on October 20 and 21.

MCM Kids Run. Three thousand kids ages 5-12 will participate in the one-mile fun run that also offers a variety of activities at the family fitness called Camp Miles. The event will be held on October 21 at the Pentagon in the North Parking lot and features music and entertainment, mascots and medals.

42nd Marine Corps Marathon. One of the largest marathons in the world starts with the blast of the M2A1 Howitzer at 7:55 a.m., sending 30,000 runners on a mission to ‘charge the district, beat the bridge and take the Iwo.’ The MCM promises a spectacular start with the color guard, national anthem, special guests and international flags from all nations represented in the field.
