WASHINGTON — A baby sitter caught sleeping on the job is wanted by police.
On Saturday, neighbors in the 3500 block of Briarwood Drive in Dumfries saw a little boy unattended and called police.
“They actually observed a 2-year-old boy, outside, playing in the parking lot area,” said Officer Nathan Probus of the Prince William County police. The boy led police to his little sister.
“We actually found his sister, an 11-month girl, outside the apartment, she was crawling around there,” Probus said.
Where was the baby sitter?
“She was asleep inside of the apartment. We actually woke her up,” Probus said.
Police had some questions for the baby sitter, who police said gave them a false a name and then, while they were investigating, vanished.
“When an officer was speaking with another officer she snuck out a back window, climbed out of it and left the scene,” Probus said.
The baby sitter, Amanda Sue Allen, 30, of Woodbridge, was wanted for violating parole. She now faces two counts of felony child neglect and giving a false name to police.
