The New York-based company said it had net income of 60 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 81 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 67 cents per share.
The maker of high-end shoes and handbags posted revenue of $1.48 billion in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.5 billion.
Tapestry expects full-year earnings in the range of $4.20 to $4.25 per share, with revenue expected to be $6.6 billion.
