Bedford mother-son deaths ruled murder-suicide

EVINGTON, Va. (AP) — Police say the deaths of a Bedford County woman and her son have been ruled a murder-suicide.

The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office says in a news release that 73-year-old Ruby Laughon died from multiple gunshot wounds. Her son, 48-year-old Brent Laughon, died from a single gunshot wound.

Deputies found the partially decomposed bodies in July on property owned by Ruby Laughon in Evington.
