Nationals C Ramos reinstated from paternity list

WASHINGTON (AP) — Catcher Wilson Ramos was reinstated from the paternity list by the Washington Nationals before their game against the New York Mets on Thursday.

Ramos missed games Tuesday and Wednesday because of the birth of his first child.

Backup catcher Sandy Leon was optioned back to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday after being with the Nationals since Tuesday while Ramos was away from the team.

Ramos is batting.290 with three homers and 25 RBIs in 49 games this season. The Nationals announced his return only minutes before the first pitch Thursday, and Jose Lobaton started against the Mets at catcher.
