‘All the Way,’ ‘Gentleman’s Guide’ win Drama Desk

NEW YORK (AP) — The Drama Desk Awards have been handed out to Robert Schenkkan’s “All the Way” for outstanding play and to “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder” for outstanding musical.

“Twelfth Night’ won for outstanding play revival on Sunday and “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” won for most outstanding musical.

Bryan Cranston won best actor in a play, Audra McDonald won best actress in a play, Jessie Mueller won best actress in a musical, and Neil Patrick Harris from “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” and Jefferson Mays from “A Gentleman’s Guide” tied for best actor in a musical.

Overall, “A Gentleman’s Guide” won a leading six awards and “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” won a next-best three awards. Seven other productions shared two awards each.
