Man dies in ice-related crash in Prince George’s County

WASHINGTON — A man is dead after an ice-related single-vehicle crash in Prince George’s County Wednesday morning.

A vehicle overturned near the intersection of Central Avenue and Saint Michaels Drive in Kettering at about 5:15 a.m. One of the vehicle’s occupants died as a result of the crash, says a Maryland State Police spokesman.

Officials closed westbound Central Avenue to traffic while they investigated the crash. The roadway reopened at about 9:15 a.m.

Maryland State Police have not released information about the cause of the crash or the name of the man who died.

Roads around the D.C. area can be dangerous Wednesday morning after Tuesday’s snowfall and cold overnight temperatures. Many roads, bridges and overpasses are icy for Wednesday morning commuters.
