German Shepard rescues abandoned infant (Video)

WASHINGTON — A German Shepherd is being hailed a hero after saving a newborn’s life in Birmingham, England.

The infant was reportedly abandoned in a park inside a duffel bag, umbilical cord still attached.

The dog’s owner told authorities his canine, Jade, wandered into the woods and refused to come back. When the owner went looking for Jade, he heard a baby crying and found the bag.

Authorities took the infant to a local hospital where officials are running DNA tests on her and the bag in hopes of finding her parents.

Nurses named the baby Jade in honor of her rescuer.
