Target prepares to launch digital video service

Next week, Target Corp. will launch its Target Ticket video-streaming service to consumers, The Buffalo News reports.

Target Ticket will allow users to rent or purchase digital copies of movies and TV shows, then play them on a computer, smartphone, tablet or other device.

The service will not require a subscription, instead charging on a per-title basis.

Target says its Ticket service will be available on PCs, Macs, Xbox 360, Androids and iOS, Roku, Samsung TVs and Blu-ray players with an eye toward compatibility for every Internet-ready device by the end of next year.
