NORAD to conduct flight exercises in D.C. region

WASHINGTON — If you hear loud military jets later Friday evening, don’t worry.

NORAD is conducting exercises in the D.C. area as part of its routine anti-terrorism exercises conducted throughout the year.

“People in this area may hear … or see NORAD-controlled fighter jets in close proximity to a military or military contracted aircraft, which will be taking on the role of aircraft of interest,” NORAD says in a statement.
