This eatery has four locations, one of which is in Washington, D.C.

Fried in duck fat, these thick fries are paired with one of three featured sauces that change seasonally.

Pommes Frites
These fries are found in New York City and are touted as "authentic Belgian fries." Served in paper cones, the potatoes are fried not once but twice.

Some of the dips for these fries are peanut satay sauce, curry and exotic mustards and mayonnaise.

Thrasher's French Fries
This Ocean City, Md., favorite has been serving up fries since 1929 and still stands as one of America's best when it comes to everyone's favorite food.

Now with three locations in Ocean City and one in Delaware, Thrasher's continues to stay true to its roots by hand cutting each one.

In one Urban Spoon review, user Wantitright says, "A Thrasher's French Fry is what every potato wished it could be."

Coreanos is a Mexican and Korean fusion food truck, complete with the slogan, "Mexican cuisine with Korean in-between."

Its specialty fries include fries served with twice-cooked pork belly, marinated beef short rib, spicy marinated chicken, grilled onions, cheese and "el scorcho" sauce. Whoa.

This Denver, Colo., "gastropub" has only been around since 2008, but its fries still made the cut.

Jonesy's offers Thai Ginger, Bacon Mac & Cheese, Truffle, That's Nacho Fry and Buffalo fries. The picture shown is a sampler platter. The Bacon Mac & Cheese fries were voted one of the best dishes in Denver.

Duckfat Restaurant
Located in Portland, Maine, Duckfat serves classic Belgian fries along with a variety of soups, sandwiches and shakes. But the fries are really stand out.

Double-fried in duck fat, these babies are super crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Some of the specialty sauces include Truffle ketchup, lemon-herb mayo, thai chili mayo and garlic mayo. If you order the "Poutine," expect fries topped with cheese curd, house duck gravy, chives and an optional fried egg.

Like many on this list, Amsterdam Bar & Hall serves up Belgian-style fries. But you also can get something called an "Oorlog," which is a "boat" of fries with onion, mayo, peanut satay and honey sambaal. There are other fry options too, and the big takeaway is that they're covered with onions and sauce.
