Crime Report: Man Arrested for Showing Child Porn to 4-Year-Old

Paul Noland (photo courtesy ACPD)A young Arlington man has been arrested and charged with sexual battery after allegedly luring a 4-year-old boy into a pickup truck.

Police say 19-year-old Paul Noland, who lives with his parents in Alcova Heights, lured the boy into this pickup truck around 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, on the 3600 block of 8th Street S. Noland is accused of showing the boy — who lives in the neighborhood — child pornography on his iPad, then touching him inappropriately.

The boy’s parents were outside doing yard work at the time of the incident, police said. From this week’s Arlington County crime report:

SEXUAL BATTERY, 05/21/13, 3600 block of S. 8th Street. At 8:00 pm on May 21, a child reported he was sexually assaulted and shown child pornography by a male neighbor.  Paul Jaquet Noland, 19, of Arlington, VA, was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual battery. He is being held without bond.

ARMED ROBBERY, 05/18/13, 2600 block of S. Crystal Drive. At 4:11 am on May 17, an unknown subject allegedly brandished a handgun in the direction of two victims in a parking garage staircase. The subject demanded the contents of their pockets and fled the scene with $60 cash. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 25 years of age, 5’11” tall and 170 lbs. The subject was wearing a bright orange polo shirt at the time of the incident.

ROBBERY, 05/15/13, 800 block of S. Greenbrier Street. At 3:05 pm on May 15, a male victim was grabbed by a suspect as he walking down the sidewalk and another suspect stole his phone out of his pants pocket. The two suspects fled the scene on foot. Suspect one is described as a black male in his early twenties, approximately 5’11” and 200 lbs. He was wearing a black skull cap, white t-shirt and dark khaki cargo shorts. Suspect two is described as a black male in his early twenties, 5’9” and 250 lbs. He was wearing a dark maroon shirt and dark pants.

ROBBERY, 05/19/13, 80 block of N. Glebe Road. At 12:30 pm on May 19, a subject grabbed the victim’s iPhone from his hand and fled the scene on foot. The subject was located by police and the cell phone was returned to the owner. Chauncey Myers, 19, of Washington, DC, was arrested and charged with robbery and failure to ID.

ROBBERY, 05/20/13, 3600 block of S. Columbia Pike. At 10:51 pm on May 20, an unknown subject entered a 7-11 store and concealed a can of steel reserve beer in his pocket. When a store employee confronted him, the subject implied he had a firearm. The suspect fled the scene and is described as a black male, approximately 25-30 years old, 6’ tall and 190 lbs. He was wearing a gray long sleeve shirt and brown cargo shorts at the time of the incident.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 05/17/13, 2100 block of S. Lincoln Street. At 3:50 pm on May 17, a subject was arrested after assaulting her elderly father. The victim sustained numerous lacerations from being struck with a glass mug and candle holder. Joanie Renee Dunbar, 53, of Arlington, VA, was charged with malicious wounding. She was held without bond.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 05/20/13, 4200 block of N. 31st Street. At 8:26 am on May 20, an unknown subject was observed exposing himself in a white van parked near a school bus stop.  The suspect is described as a white male, 30-40 years old.  The vehicle is described as a white Chevy Astro van.

BURGLARY, 05/19/13, 500 block of S. 23rd Street. At 4:09 am on May 19, two subjects broke into an establishment and stole money from the ATM machine. The subjects wore masks and dark clothing at the time of the incident.

BURGLARY, 05/20/13, 5200 block of N. 11th Street. Between 6:50 and 8 am on May 20, an unknown subject(s) entered a residence and stole an iPad and laptop. There is no suspect(s) description.

LARCENY (SERIES), 05/15/13, 1800 block of N. Quinn Street and 1860 N. Scott Street. Between 5 pm on May 14 and 7:50 am on May 15, an unknown subject(s) entered parking garages and stole a total of five bicycles. There is no suspect(s) description.
