Seattle now holds world record for biggest snowball fight

WASHINGTON – Seattle made the Guinness Book of World Records on Saturday when nearly 6,000 Seattleites got together to stage the world’s biggest snowball fight — ousting the previous record-holder, The Republic of Korea.

More than 160,000 pounds of snow were trucked in for the event, during which scores of people suffered welts and bloody noses, reports

Some came well-prepared, however, armored with helmets, ski goggles and makeshift shields.
