(Updated at 12:55 p.m.) Montgomery County Police are reporting shots were fired at a gate to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
The incident occurred around noon and reportedly involved Navy Medical campus police at Walter Reed’s north gate. Police are now shutting down northbound Wisconsin Avenue at Jones Bridge Road for an investigation into the incident.
The incident was reportedly related to the police pursuit of a driver in a black Mitsubishi, who was tracked down to the Harris Teeter grocery store (11845 Old Georgetown Rd.) in North Bethesda and is now in police custody.
