WASHINGTON – Police say they are getting leads about the person who gunned down 17-year-old Amber Stanley, but they need more.
Someone kicked in the door of the teen’s home on the 100 block of Chartsey Street in Upper Marlboro on Aug. 22. The gunman climbed the stairs and shot the teen several times while she was in her bed around 11:30 p.m., police say. Stanley had dreams of attending Harvard and becoming a doctor.
“We still don’t have a vehicle description. We still don’t have a solid suspect description, which is why every tip that we can get in is helpful to us,” says Prince George’s County police Capt. Timothy Tyler.
Stanley lived in the Kettering area, and police are handing out fliers there today detailing information about Stanley’s death.
Police are offering a $25,000 reward for the tip that leads to the arrest and indictment of a suspect or suspects in the case.
Anyone with information is asked to call (301) 772-4925. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call (866) 411-TIPS(8477).
